Facts!!! How Good Having : LDL

Low-Density Lipoprotein (LDL)

Old understanding:

LDL is the bad type of cholesterol which must be lowered at all costs because it interferes with the blood running through the veins. The ideal target for blood content for LDL is 100mg/dl or lower. Eating food with high fat content and a lack of exercise can make your LDL levels higher, and this can kill you.

The new understanding of LDL:

It turns out that LDL is not completely bad because there are 2 kinds of LDL found in the human body.

LDL-A is the large, soft floating type and as long as there is no oxidation from the outside (free radicals) then you are safe.

LDL-B is small hard, sticky and very dangerous. This is the type of cholesterol that forms plaque inside your arteries, causes blockages and can kill you.

Interestingly in the present time you can check for both types of this cholesterol through a laboratory. Unfortunately, most doctors will not ask you to have it checked, but simply offer you drugs to control it!
