THE MONK’S SECRET : Breathing

THE MONK’S SECRET ON MUSCLE BUILDING.

I have my own method of weight lifting which is different than that of the common way, (another of the monk’s secrets.) It makes muscle development 4 times more effective than the usual exercise routines. I spend 15 to 20 minutes at the gym 3 times a week and I don’t bother with cardio or sit ups.

Maybe you will ask if the ancient Shaolin is muscular?

The simple answer is that some of them are and some of them are not. It all really depends on their training. Some are trained in Kungfu and some are trained for some other martial art.

One example is that the Kungfu tiger stance requires certain muscles to execute. Consequently they are trained to build certain muscle groups. Whereas the crane moves don’t require muscle so much as they require speed and so they are trained to be fast with smaller mature muscles.

Breathing Techniques

Breathing Increases Muscle! Breathing is the oxygenation process to all of the cells in your body. With the supply of oxygen to the brain, this increases the muscles in your body.

5 minute abdominal breathing technique before exercise.

Do you know the difference between breathing from your abdomen and breathing with your chest? Watch a newborn baby or a young child sleeping quietly in their beds. It’s their stomach that enlarges and then shrinks.

It’s because they breathe naturally with the stomach and not with the chest. As time goes on and we age, we change out breathing patterns from the stomach to the chest. It could be that because we are ashamed of the size of our stomachs, and so without realizing it we switch to breathing with our chest and pull in our stomach. YOU ARE DOING IT RIGHT NOW!

Deep breathing provides oxygen to your cells of your body, which helps you absorb nutrients. It also stimulates your lymphatic system to get rid of toxins. If you are breathing shallow, also known as chest breathing, your cells receive less nutrient and your lymph system may be slower. Both of these factors will cause you to gain weight.

The monks as a matter of regular habit do light meditation before they exercise.
